Abstract

The study generally aims at ensuring effective implementation of agricultural part programmes and projects in Nigeria. Data for the study was obtained through the review of literatures on agricultural programmes and projects in Nigeria. The various agricultural programmes and projects were identified such as the Agricultural Development Project (ADP) National Fadama Development Project (NFDP) some benefits  of Agricultural programmes such as increasing participation of the people in agriculture and ensuring food security and sustainability were discovered  and the constraints to the implementation of the agricultural programmes such as bureaucratic bottlenecks, poor funding, shortage of trained many power among others were revealed. The study recommend, that for agricultural programmes to meet with their set goals, there should be adequate orientation of the people on the  needs and benefits of the said programmes, there should be employment of trained personnel’s the people should be well involved especially the farmers
